Rigs: IC 7800 for HF/MF, IC 910H for VHF/UHF and satelite

Amplifier: IC PW1

Enables me to put out up to 1 KW.

 

HF/MF antenna: BWD-180

Folded, horizontal dipole 180 ft long and 50 ft up.

I use this antenna for operation 160m - 6m.

 

VHF/UHF antenna: Comet GP9

17 ft vertical that currently sits on the roof.

The antenna has amazing gain at 8.5 dbi on 2m.

11.9 dbi on 70cm.

This antenna is a simplex machine, allowing me to communicate with people within a 75 mile radius or more.

 

Computer: Homebuilt

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 ghz overclocked to 2.79 ghz

Asus motherboard

2 GB of ram

 

Radio-Computer Interface: Rigblaster Pro

I control the radio via RS232

Output (TX) audio (Digital only) via Rigblaster Pro

Input (RX) audio (Digital only) via Rigblaster Pro

When I operate voice (SSB, AM, FM, etc.) I disconnect the radio from the computer soundcard ports.

 

Programs: Ham Radio Deluxe, HRD Logbook, DM780

Ham Radio Deluxe is a free suite of programs.

The suite contains a radio control program, digital program, electronic logbook, automatic mapper, etc.

DM780 is probably one of the best digital programs available

It allows you to use just about any commonly used digital mode out there. (SSTV, PSK31, MFSK, RTTY, etc.)

HRD Logbook automatically looks up your contacts on qrz.com and fills in the information automatically among many other great features.
